So you’ve decided to buy a Dyson vacuum cleaner, but did you know that you can save up to 50% if you buy a refurbished Dyson vacuum cleaner compared with a brand new product?

Differences between new and refurb Dyson DC17 vacuum cleaners

A refurb (remanufactured) model simply means that the unit has been returned to the place of manufacture (Dyson) and they have then fixed it or modified it so that it resembles a new model. There may be some slight cosmetic damage such as scratches (all 3 of my refurb purchases look brand new however), but the functioning of the vacuum cleaner will be normal. All refurb Dyson sweepers are backed up by warranties, usually a six month factory warranty. Some even come with a 10 year warranty on the motor!

If something goes wrong with the refurb model within the warranty period, you can simply return it just like you would with a brand new vacuum cleaner. Dyson however are known for their quality vacuum cleaners so it is unlikely that your unit will malfunction in such a short time period.

Price Comparison Between Brand New Dyson Vacuum Cleaner and Remanufactured Model

You can save a considerable amount when you choose to buy a refurb vacuum cleaner. Take for example the Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum Cleaner. A brand new unit will cost you around $550 whilst a Refurb Dyson DC17 Animal Vacuum Cleaner (this one comes with a 10 year warranty on motor) will cost you under (well under!) $400 and do the exact same quality job as the brand new model.

If you are comfortable with a shorter warranty period then buying a refurb Dyson vacuum cleaner is highly recommended as you can save several hundred dollars (about $200!) by doing so.
